15 Years of Turning Field Work Into Funded Programmes
I am a Strategic Communications Specialist based in Abuja, Nigeria, with over 15 years of experience in international development and peacebuilding communications.

My Story
My career started in newsrooms and digital publishing, where I learned how to make complex information clear and compelling for real audiences. Over time, that skill moved into the development sector, where the stakes are higher: donor funding, community trust and programme survival often depend on whether communications are done well.
Today I serve as Communications Coordinator at Search for Common Ground Nigeria, managing communications for the Lake Chad Basin Country Programme. My work spans donor visibility compliance, crisis communications, impact storytelling and digital strategy, for programmes funded by UNICEF, the EU, USAID, IOM and the Dutch Embassy.
I have field experience across Borno and Yobe States in Northeast Nigeria, where I have trained field teams in ethical storytelling, mobile journalism and digital asset management. I am fluent in Hausa and English, which lets me move naturally between community-level engagement and strategic donor reporting.
